I EXPERIMENT WITH GRIDS, COLOUR AND DAISIES!

My name is Jackie, I'm a Hampshire, UK-based graphic designer and creative. My art moniker is 'PlumsPix', maybe you are wondering, "Why PlumsPix?' … well… my nickname is Plum!
From an art & design background, the urge to create has always been there, and I particularly love experimenting with grids, colour and daisies. Since 2022 I have made extra time to focus on developing my art. I have exhibited 4 times, sold several pieces, local independent shops are stocking my limited edition art prints, and I look forward to continuing my 'grids and daisies' PlumsPix art journey.

MY SIGNATURE ART STYLE
My 'signature style' incorporates elements of grids, often strong, sometimes subtle, paired with my attraction to strong, clashing colour combinations and contrasts.
Being a graphic designer means I design within the layout-constraints of design grids, but in my 'PlumsPix art world' I get to challenge those restraints, to break them up, strip them back or weave them into simple and complex, layers of colour and texture.

LIMITED EDITION CONTEMPORARY ART PRINTS
Combining striking colour and multiple layers, creates intriguing and unique art prints.
My art prints are inspired by, and sometimes contain parts of, photographs I have taken of nature or urban landscapes. Designs can take over 2 weeks of development to achieve the complex, linear graphic results. I also hand-embellish my limited edition prints with metallic foils and additional layers of texture.
Happy Day-see is the title of a series of my contemporary, graphic styled, daisy-inspired art prints, designed to bring optimism, and art attitude, to your home or office space. My graphic daisy-themed art prints are available in Limited Edition and Open Edition Art Prints.

 ABSTRACT IMAGINARY LANDSCAPE PAINTINGS
In my abstract, imaginary landscapes I work in an intuitive way by weaving lively, textured acrylic layers applied using various methods; art and decorating brushes, palette knives, poured paint, or sometimes kitchen utensils! I enjoy this process and how the work evolves, but wish the layers of paint would dry quicker!
I began working with strong white grids, visually dissecting parts of the painting, often creating several 'mini paintings' on one canvas, which encouraged the eye to explore and contemplate specific areas. I'm now experimenting with simplifying my grid style, into one wide vertical band – building one painting on top of another – this simple grid reveals the emotion in the underlying painting.
Maybe you have taken a photo of a sunset or an urban or natural landscape, I can paint that in my abstract style, what a great conversation piece it would be, you could tell your visitors that a painting is based on a photo you took!
